BF2: Invade the USA expansion

For some reason the map locations for the Armour expansion were only mentioned in European press releases:


Battlefield 2: Armored Fury?, releasing March 28th, will focus on large mechanised battles in the American heartland.

Battlefield 2: Armored Fury will add three new maps, all set in the rural heartland of America where the US forces defend their homeland from Chinese and MEC forces. This Booster Pack will also introduce two new vehicle classes: Attack Jets with the ability to use rocket pods and cluster bombs, and agile Scout Choppers which will reveal nearby enemies. "Midnight Sun" takes place on the Alaskan border, where Chinese forces make landfall. "Operation Harvest" will take the player to the vast open plains of Pennsylvania where only the expert use of air and armor will assure victory. "Operation Road Rage" sees all-out tank warfare on the freeways of America.

Just when I thought BF2 couldn't get more unrealistic, it does.

Tank battles on freeways????? Vast open plains of Pennsylvania? There are a lot of fields there but plains are out West.

Only in European press releases?? Dumb idea.

I would have like see a karkand/berlin type map that takes place in New York City. Thats kind of disappointing their not putting an urban map on.

oh god not more bf2!
When i first heard about bf2 I remember thinking it was gonna be something like what this game will be like-in terms of teamwork. But its just too arcadey (IMO) and everyone competes on the scoreboards taking away the fun, im sick of this crappy game! :mad:

and now EA are releasing another expansion filled with the same trollop! Once again they probably havent listened to their customers/fans and are making an unfinished product which is exactly the same as bf2.
Thats why I love smaller game companies (eg frantic games ;) ) They listen to their fans needs and it isnt all about the money/ releasing the games early

This was an opinion, if you like the game have fun... but count me out :p

Looks like a shameless way to extract money from the fans. It'll probably work really well too. Looks like a fun expansion to me, but I gave up on BF2 long ago due to the lack of support from EA and Dice. I don't know if it has gotten better, but I'm not really interested anymore.

BF2 can be fun, but generally annoying other times. Nothing worse than getting camped by a helicopter, which flies off to get repaired when it takes any dammage and then return to carry on where it left off. Its issues like that which can be annoying.

Expansion packs rely on 'peer pressure' to sell. Once half the players have it, the other half realise they need it to stay up with the times.

There coming out with a new patch pretty soon. I think after the euro expansion pack. Their fixing allot of stuff in it to make it better. They nerfed the noob tube and you can no longer shoot and jump at the same time. They pretty much got rid of dolphin divers. The helo's will now have 8 missiles.
They also fixed the AA guns so they work better. It will also be easier to destroy helo's, jets, and tanks. Their making some progress, but hey its bf2 money comes before customer satisfaction.

Well, I bought the Special Forces expansion, and that wasn't worth it... so I'm not going to bother with this one.

I had a look see at the euro pack, The Brit para's seem to have MP5's and a random camo scheme. The game really can get annoying when you empty a mag right into someones chest and they just brush it off and kill you with 3 rounds, maybe my disk is scratched or something :confused:

Usually when they are killing you with 3 shots, their getting head shots on you. (really good aim or hack?)Or usually it?s a guy behind you that you didn't notice. I kill allot of people by shooting or knifing them in the back.

Its not in the back when I get killed, Its point blank after putting half a mag into someones chest, watching the rounds go into him and then bam 3 shots in the chest im dead. :eek: I just had a look at my disc.

the problem is that they can't give em L85's, since that's one of the upgrade weapons..

Well that's correct, as there is many versions of it in real life:

SA80
SA80/UGL
SA80 LSW
SA80 with iron sights (L98)
SA80 Carbine
