I just ordered it off of "cdWOW.com.au" - have only been hearing (reading) good things about it on the "www.twcentre.net" forums, which is a gigantic change from the way they talk about Empire on there.
And it sure as hell looks nice. Even though last night I linked a friend to a video of it by PrinceofMacedon (recording of an online battle), and they said "the graphics are awful". I'm wondering if they were watching a different video, or just didn't happen to notice the thousands of guys running around.
Anyone else going to get it? Or even has it already? Thoughts?

Looks like ETW clone but set just a few decades in the future. I refuse to pay 60% for this "full game". Plus the graphics are better, so I probably cannot play it anyways.

You're kind of just making assumptions there. For one, it apparently runs inexplicably better than Empire, despite the better graphics (although exactly how much better, and why, is a question I don't know the answer to).
Secondly, there are improvements everywhere in Napoleon that, personally, I think (appear to) make a huge improvement to just about everything, including improvements to the AI, obviously the graphics and general feel of it, and the detail it's presented in due to the reduced campaign scale.
The twcenter forums would NOT be praising it if it wasn't good. They're right dicks over there.
That said, you're entitled to your opinion too, and I'm making assumptions as well.

It's fun. But 60€ for it is bit meh.

Anyone know if it will work with current nvidia drivers? Its irritating to roll back to the 180's to get Empire to work.

I won't pay full game price for what should be an expansion, with a lot of features that should have been part of ETW, or patched into ETW. Such as bearable AI, and game stability, and optimized graphics.
Some developers can get away with making a sequel essentially a clone but with better graphics and a few new features; I like L4D2, and look how many people buy every CoD game that comes out. But ETW was so riddled with frustrating issues, I won't buy NTW unless I find it for 1/5 the release price, a couple years down the line.
The twcenter.net guys are a decent barometer for shittiness, but I still won't give CA more of my money (even if I had any) for the game we should've gotten a year ago.

Sorry, lost a good amount of respect for CA when they started to care more about money than their fan base.
Look how long it took for the promised multiplayer campaign to be released. On top of this, although I haven't tried it myself, I have heard it isn't very good.
You guys are hatin way too hard on CA, all developers make mistakes and they paid for it dearly, how long did they spend working on Empire? even though it wasn't perfect they were working on a new title with alot of fresh ideas.
I am a total total war fanboy so they get my money everytime and I'm giddy whenever I start up a new campaign. Think what you want, but I'm looking at the big picture rather than nit picking.

I would have to agree with this... most of you guys aren't even giving CA a chance to redeem themselves and are either assuming Napoleon is going to be a pathetic investment therefore not buying it, or are just not buying it out of spite for the developer who, really, hasn't screwed up THAT much. Sure, the DLC they did was weak, but it was probably to offset piracy and encourage people to buy a legitimate copy. And it's still a company - they are there for the express purpose of making money, we can't loathe them for attempting to do so. Considering they have SEGA as their publisher, too, who probably forced them to do DLC etc. And let's not forget that while they released Empire in a questionable state, they patched it up to being at least stable, and with Darthmod it becomes considerably better.
Anyway, their business practices are basically irrelevant - they make games, and those games can still be good. Perhaps give Napoleon a chance before turning your nose up at the developer... Or don't, it's not like you absolutely have to. It's just a shame you won't get the chance to perhaps enjoy something that -could- renew your faith in the series.

I only own RTW and I love it.

It's not the consumer's job to give the company a second chance until they get it right, and that I won't buy NTW isn't to spite the company or "punish" them or what have you, it's because ETW had a lot of problems and I wish I'd paid less than $50 for it, so I won't pay $50 for NTW. Once it drops price I'll probably buy it, but I'm not excited enough to pay full price to get it right away.

Is this a stand-alone? Last CA game I bought was RTW and really enjoyed it. Never got around to picking up ETW, but if NTW is better I might just get that instead.

I'm a student - I can't afford to be liberally handing out 'second chances'.

In an interview I heard that they made the region specific campaign maps very detailed and just as big as the world map and it has all the mountain passes and detail in the land; I really want to see a world campaign map that has the detail of the region specific ones, that would be epic.

This game is better that empire. The game runs better now, and the AI is now much harder. But I still think 40 euros is a bit high price for this.
