First of all I have Windows XP. The problem I have encountered is that I tried to download windows media player 10, and I accidentally exited the download. I tried again, but it wonked out on me. The problem is, the files MP10Setup and MP10Setup - 1 appear to be in permanent usage. What I mean is that whenever I try to delete or move them, I get an error message saying it can't be deleted because it is in use, close programs that may be using it. I have tried that and it hasn't worked yet.

As I do not want two random useless applications (by filetype) sitting on my desktop forever, how do i get rid of them?

Thanks.

Have u tried reseting ur computer? it might reset whatever is u sing it and let u delete it. fail that, u could ctrl+alt+del to bring up the task manager and go to the processes tab, and then look for any .exe files or files that have a name related to MP10setup or MP10 and end the process. You should be able to delete it then.
be carefull not to end and system processes tho else u may crash ur comp or sthin :)

hope that helps

hmm yeh that does sound like spyware or a worm or sthing, as i've had a similar experience. My computer was a bit of a mess anyways at the time so i just reformatted. so i couldnt tell you how to get rid of it.
Maybe try running Ad-Aware scan, or spybot scan and see if it picks anything up. otherwise
Otherwise i can only really suggest googling for "taskmanager doest open" and see how other ppl fixed the problem.

i found this McAfee program that seemed to help a few ppl on some forums
McAfee Stinger (http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/)

hope u can get it fixed up
