I do believe he is bluffing.
1. People who don't know anything about graphics cards don't usually buy the most expensive one.
2. He had a Dell. People who have Dell's know nothing about computers. (Designed for gaming, that is)
3. He said he couldn't post pictures.
4. People like to show off that they have money.

I would have to say that anyone who buys a complete computer, probably doesn't know alot about computers. Not that it really matters because your goal is to enjoy, but if you know alot about computers, you would probably build one yourself. :)

There a lots of people with more money than sense! I could see it happening, I've had people ask me if a PCI-E card will fit in a PCI slot. Obviously I tell them they'd need to cut the card down a little bit lol.
Where did you find the post?

He may have not put the pic in his first post but had added it later. And there are people how don't know anything about putting together a computer but still know that they like video games and know that they want the best PC to play their games.

I've seen the forums this was posted on - he took about 6 pictures from various angles when he could get a camera. He then tried to glue it back on (!), amid raucous laughter from the other forum users.

I'm being blocked access to that site by one of my other firewalls (Don't worry about it), but is this the one where he tryed cutting a bit of it off because of how it woudn't fit in a dell PC and that he was following mates advice?
If so, thats hilarious :p

he may or may not have worked his ass off to get that money. All I am laughing about is the stupidity of cutting up your craphics card if you want to use it. So don't go bashing me.

You had to be sarcastic there, yes?
That's the whole reason half the stuff in the world is "funny". It's "funny" because it happened to someone else. And now they're at a loss.
Well, that's my version of 'funny'...
OliverMarshall

There are 2 versions of funny.
1) it is just so stupid it's funny (i.e this case)
2) it's just a funny thing.

We originally got the concept of laughing at others for their misfortunes from the Germans, if anyone is interested. I think its funny because you should never cut bits off things unless you can stick them back on again :)

For all we know it could just be one of those kids who gets his parents to buy hom whatever he wants. So laugh it up until you hear other wise.

Annihalator I feel sorry for him too, even if he is one of those kids whose parents get him whatever he wants, they might not get him a new video card for a while.

That model of dell is years and years old, i think. I used to have an 8250, and it was bought in 2001. That 2350 is at least 5+ years old, no wonder it didnt fit.

Nothing to do with age, its a 64bit card thats trying to fit into a 32bit mother board. He could have gotten a new 32bit card and it would have fit.

Actually, plenty of people are kinda stupid and know nothing about computers but are rich enough to want the best gaming rig anyways...
You don't have to be a computer scientist to be a gamer!

Actually it does, it's a PCI-e card trying to fit into a PCI or AGP slot.
