I qualified to get my Cross Rifles on my DEUs (if I had them lol)
That means I got over 56 (out of 70) on my PWT2 Rifle Shooting test with the Canadian Forces. My rifle was made in 1986, and is a C7A1 Service Rifle.
This morning I fired 180 rounds through a C9 Light Machine Gun. Then after getting one of the top 5 shots in my Unit I was sent to the Pistol Range. Were i Ifired 55 rounds out of a Browning 9mm Pistol.

Oh yeah? well when i did the Australian Army Rifle infantry qualification shoot.
My first grouping of three was each within 0.83 mm of eachother....ooooh...yeah... Then during the shoot.
4 targets 5 rounds in each target. i miscounted my shots. So i had shot all 5 rounds in the 3rd target. But i couldent remember if i had or not. So i looked up at my target. There were 4 holes in it. So i assumed i had only shot 4 rounds.
So i shot another round into the target. So then i kept firing at the other target. 1....2.....3....4....click.....
i soon realised i had shot a round through the exact hole as the last....so i only saw 4 holes even though i had shot 5......
So good....i failed...:)
EDIT: BUT! Thanto great work! we should start a 1944 D-Day Sharpshooter club. :)
We should all wear a badge :P

These were fired from 150m away with no optical sights (just iron sights)...had 2-3 seconds to fire these from where you hold your gun away from your eyes (not in a ready position).
The center white-area is the size of a big orange. If I remember correctly, it was 5 shots from prone (150m) where you need to hit the target in 3 shots in 5 seconds, the rest 2 you have 2-5 seconds for each shot. Then from the knee you have to shoot from the same 150m without loosing any accuracy compared to the prone position. Then from standing you shoot the rest shots from 50m.
So to put this straight, I can shoot an apple from your mouth from 150m when you pop up from an foxhole just for 2-3 seconds and I am not even aiming at your direction prior to your exposure. ;P
They wanted me to go to sniper-training but it was too late to change my status at the time so ..... :,,<

Well I'm not that bad either
I got 5 hits out of 6 at 2 diffrent standing figures, all of the hits were within a 5 cm radius of each other.
This was at 300 meters with iron sights.
(It's the final AK5 test in the swedish army)
Also I got the one of the highest scores in AT4 shooting.
Don't remember what it was but it was quiet high.
So Katulobotomia, what were you saying about shooting an apple out of someones mouth at 150 m? ;)

Oh just so everyone knows this was at teh 200 Meters with a x3.4 Optical sight. Tho My sight was dry zeroed and then corrected on the range. I dont know how tight my groupings were because I never saw during the test or the practice, just the indication (Were they put orange plugs in your bullet holes). Started off crap then got tighter and tighter.
During the night shoot I only hit my scored target 4 times. . . three of those shots were touching eachother.
My unit is in Borden so we train in Borden.

Eurofighter;84560']wats up with the patches on that board? You finnish recycle all your stuff? :p
You think we change the boards everytime we hole them? :-DDDD
Okay, we shoot about..umm..~60 rounds per practice. 3-10 rounds per one shoot-out. And we go check the results. So changing after every shoot-out it would make max.20 new target-boards. PER ONE PERSON. And there are something about ~20-30 soldiers per practice, so it would make max 600 fresh target-boards PER PRACTICE!
Patching up the previous holes this way reduces the amount of target-boards used to as low as 1/300percent of what you are suggesting :-DDD Since we usually only had to replace two target-boards per practice, where the boards have so many patched holes that you cant patch it anymore.
Its called common sense and using available resources the best possible way ;-P In Finland we use one round to shoot a person, where in some other countries *couch* they whore the surrounding area with clusterbombs, artillery and airstrikes to kill a few soldiers.

hehe, thats the fun way though. Just saw it on some Commando program about the Royal Marines on tv. They patrolled for 6 hours, finally met some resistance at the end and they retreated and called in an airstrike.

PULL AND PATCH!!!!!!
You would not believe the amount of times Herman gets patched up at the ranges. We ran through 4 serials, each one shooting probably 130 rounds. . . we didnt change the targets once (tho we did use 3 seperate targets, including a hand held lol a buddy of mines exploded when he was holding it lol). Nothing is like sitting in the butts hearing the crack of a round flying no more then 1 and a 1/2 to 4 feet above your head.
We shoot at Herman the German. (aka the Fig 11. Target)

Well i'd think if you use proper cardboard (perhaps thin wooden) targets they will cost the same maybe even less than the max 1800 patches you will need for one practice eh? ;)
Not to mention its less work to just put in a new board instead of patching it.

You would be suprised. . . Patching a target can take like 5 seconds. . . putting a whole new one on can take like 2 minutes.
