Any techie type person will have heard of them. Well, not far away from retail release are the X1800, X1600 and X1300 series cards.

All of them support Shader 3.0 Technology, and certain GPU's are Crossfire ready, meaning two of them can be put side by side on a Crossfire motherboard. All the models can go up to a whopping 512Mb DDR3 Memory, running at incredible speeds.

These things are overkill, but I still want one. Maybe some day.... :D

I haven't seen anything for the X1800XT (probably because it isnt out) but there was a review on www.guru3d.com on the X1800XL and it got beat by the 7800GT on every benchmark they did (which included games like FarCry, HL2, and Doom 3) so i'm definitely just going to stick with Nvidia until ATI can come out with something major.

After seeing this, http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1867125,00.asp , I wouldn't even look at that site anymore. I guess they think 3DMark05 score is the same as FPS? They should probably fix that.

Here's the Guru3d article. http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/262/11/

Im fine with my X700 at the moment. (Currently I have it overclocked and it runs flawlessly)

I may go for SLi in the future, when I get a PCI-E x16 AMD 64Bit Motherboard and a nice AMD 64 Bit Processor. That will be in a year or so though.

And for any ATi user out there, ATi released the 5.10 Catalyst drivers recently.

The X1800XT has beaten a 7800GTX SLI-configuration with a broad 3DMark05 margin.
And this was on a prototype board with b?ta-drivers.

What if it was a production-complete model with normal-drivers???
