Hi all Im looking for some people who have these cards, to give me honest feedback on performance. I am looking to buy a few good solid Geforce cards to test with. I want to know what performance these babies hit at on a practical machine, not some custom built thing tailored for a feature test.
I want a proper used and abused pc..... :D
Anyway
HalfLife 2
BattleField 2
FarCry
Doom 3
and any other high spec games if you can mention what FPS you get, what your system spec is, and just a general response on how well maintained your PC is such as overclocking tools or optomisations you have done.
Also reviews for these cards would be nice. Im lookin mainly at plain old AGP no PCI Express.
Cheers

Ronan,
If you look at Tom's Hardware guide, they had a review comparing the 6800GT, 6600GT, 7800GT, X800, 9800, SLI modes, etc etc, on a wide range of games, and reported on a bunch of different statistics. The guide really helped me decide on which card to buy...which was my 6800GT.
My 6800 GT runs battlefield 2 with all highest, 2x antialias and some AF PERFECTLY, it is absolutely amazing. This is without overclocking, so I guess you could even push the limits a bit more if you wanted to.
Recently ran the F.E.A.R. demo and the CoD2 demo on my comp, both ran super smooth as well.
6800GT is a real deal for its price in my opinion, if you don't believe me I strongly suggest you read that article in Tom's Hardware.
I tried running FarCry on my 6800GT, did not work at all. Well, it RAN, but the lighting was extremely fuqqed up, like out of control bright in some places and super dark in some places, none of which should be dark or bright. But I believe this is the fault of the GAME itself, not the card. I read that the later patches for FarCry fixes this problem for the 6800 GT. Farcry's graphics are a bit outdated though, in comparison with BF2, so it shouldn't be any problem. Same goes for Doom 3.
I believe BF2 is the most graphic intensive game out of the ones listed, and my 6800GT performs like a wetdream on it.
Here are my comp specs in case you wanted to know:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Venice Socket 939
50GB Seagate Barracudea 7200 RPM, Serial ATA 150 HD
Corsair XMS DDR 400 ROM, 1GB
EPoX mobo, PCI Express, GeForce nForce 4
GeForce 6800GT
Samsung analog LCD, 17 inches, 15 ms refresh rate
500W Antec SmartPower PSU
P.S. Why AGP? Will be retired soon and only PCI Express only costs like 40-50 more. Unless you don't wanna change your AGP mobo.

i have a GT 6600, have had some minor driver problems..
I generally run things medium to high.,..
My pc seems to always slow down with sprites on screen like COD 2 demo Smoke grenades when I run through the smoke etc...
Other than that it does what I want it to do.. Im usually in the 30's or more with frame rates for most of the latest games.. but sometimes I get really low frames when theres alot going on on screen.

I've a 6800 and most of the above games run well on high the fps never dipping below 20. Core433 i also had the same problem with far cry and the messed up shaders but as you said the patch fixes that.

Pretty much same with me. 6600GT - Gets a very playable 30 - 50 fps on medium settings, but gets a bit choppy when smoke grenades, or reflections are high. So it ranges from around 25-50fps, depending on the situation...
The only problem I have is the heat probe censor... It constantly displays my cards temp as being 234 celcius. Just a little bit warmer than what it is...

I'm using a Gigabyte AGP 128MB 6600GT and I think it's an excellent budget card.
Doom 3 on full gets a decent 40 FPS
Half Life 2 gets about 50-60 fps (More if I use autoexec tweaks)
I have farcry, but haven't used FRAPS to check the average FPS, but needless to say on high, it's still very smooth.
Battlefield is a bit of a iffy because on medium I still get choppy gameplay, but thats more of a RAM issue.
