WW1 mod for CFS3 (Combat Flight Simulator 3).
Very cool mod, although I haven't played it yet, since my gaming comp. is on repairs, but if you do have CFS3, then I recommend downloading it. The phase 1 was excellent, even if it had quite a few bugs.
Some of the features:
1) Recreation of major battle still in progress.
2) Persistent frontline damage to terrain and buildings/towns as the lines move. Currently at least 12 historical major positions for No Mans Land - this recreates the major territory changes including captured airfield changes, towns decay as the front line hits them, the old front line and NML terrain reforms and trees and grass start to grow back, including poppies in the churned turf. Massive amount of historical data and research on an unheard of scale for a WW1 flight simulator!
3) A more immersive user interface with more features that make you feel even more involved. Pilots in your squadron fight for their lives and kills too.
4) More Diverse and Dynamic campaign engine with many more Squadrons including the Americans In French Squadrons all as historically accurate as possible. Campaign missions evolve and become more complex from early simple recon missions in 1914/15 to coordinated troop and gun emplacement strafing runs by the Germans 1918. The campaign engine is open database "driven" and hence is a very flexible architecture. All handled externally via the "OFF Manager" which controls your experience! Note OFF campaigns are much more immersive than the standard CFS3 campaign engine.
5) Revised Lighting and Clouds and Weather.
6) Real world haze effects!
7) Micro squadron data management - squadron members tallies are collated, deaths and injuries to squad members are refreshed with new recruits.
8) Improved logging of "claims" to the home office.
9) Daily debriefs and other "squadron duties".
10) Airfields will change hands as the frontlines move.
......and more.
I AM NOT A MEMBER OF THE TEAM MAKING THIS MOD! I AM TAKING NO CREDIT! I JUST WANTED TO INFORM YOU ABOUT THIS PROJECT.
