I have a feeling that the reading is stuffed. I left it off for 30 minutes, and it didn't move a degree. I'll just live with it...

Must be a bug with the drivers. However, it would do you good to open your machine up and check it out, shortly after you turn it off. But hell, it was running at over 200 degrees C, you would be able to feel it from your chair.

yeah, I thought that too. If it was 234 degrees, the plastic on the cables would've melted already...
I think it's just a screwed up reading.

Yeah it must be, even if it was coming close to 90 or something you would be getting really bad visual defects, it's a telltale sign of overheating.

Speaking of GFX card problems, does anyone have issues with the Radeon 9600 card series?
Since Ive had it, its been nothing but a pain in the arse.

It's NvidIa, Enough said... :D
They always over heat at the weirdest times, and half the time for no-reason..
Also I have NEVER heard anyone say they had a problem with there Radeon 9600, make sure you only have one CAT installed or you WILL have problems, I love my X700..... :)

I don't like NVidia. Im an ATi man myself. I have had no troubles whatsoever with my X700 or its drivers. :D

Ive got one catalyst. But when I put my ATI settings to poor....most problems cease. In BF2 it lags like hell. And Im running a computer that should handle it with no problems at all. Never lagged on Joint ops and it never lagged on BF1942......enter the world of the twighlight zon.
Come to think of it, we used to get the problem of the black screen of death....or the "no single" screen. Thats why I think my 9600 is a pain in the arse.
Anyone have any ideas on what to do?

Hmm, uninstall drivers, run drivercleaner, get new drivers. Omega drivers are good.

I hated my 9800, it was a real piece of crap
It probally was one of those low end editions anyway...

Personally, I would just get driver cleaner, go to the Tweaks R Us site (http://www.tweaksrus.com/index.php?option=com_docman&task=cat_view&gid=127&Itemid=41), get the XTreme-G 78.11-HD's (This is what I'm using), run driver cleaner, reboot, install the drivers, reboot and that would be that :D
My 6600GT runs at about 50 degrees, FYI :)
Oh also, if you do run an Nvidia card, download this (http://www.clan-beef.net/files/Tweaks/refresh-overclock.zip) as it unlocks a few extra panels in the Nvidia menu :p
