Im just gonna say.....*couch* I found the game to be very heavy on my system.

AMD 4600+ X2 2,8Ghz
AX850 XT 256Mb 560Mhz/1200Mhz
2Gb DDR RAM 400Mhz Dual-channel

Everytime a lightning hits the game slideshows.

Sad thing I can´t play it online, my system wont let it connect somehow, even this net-browser sometimes is blocked ? O_o I think I have something wrong with systemfiles or in windows firewall

And hell yeah Im buying it, Ive been waiting for years and years. I was a member if its official forum for years back and have seen it change in time to a whole new game (maybe worse maybe better)

And yup you shouldnt release screens if you agreed with the terms

I don't know how much I want Stalker anymore... I hear they made a LOT of changes to it. Like, it's not so free form anymore, instead there are 'sections' that you have to unlock, each one separated by fences and locked gates. I don't really know much yet though, so I'll give it a try I guess.

Yea, they were doing too much and their skills/knowledge were too little to make everything they tried a reality. Some were cut just for "gameplay" reasons, which in my view were just to make the game more mainstream and easier. I´ve heard that they had to make the AI a lot dumber too, so that it would not comlete the game by itself and they couldnt make it work good, but I also read an article them saying they got it to work and is the original AI that was being developed over the years. ALOT of rumors and little confirmations make it a messy deal, and only I can judge if the ORIGINAL STALKER, I fell in love, still is alive somewhere in there. :,/

A true story of love between a man and his video game. *Sniff*. I'm getting it anyway. Is there still Co-op? If there ain't, no dice.

Meh, i'm not really interested. It's one of these games I end up buying a year or two after release. I don't think the STALKER police are gonna break your face if you post some screens on the 1944 forum, DC.

Uhm can someone explain just exactly STALKER is I mean I know its like a RPG/FPS am I right? Freeroam too iirc, but what exactly have they cut out and whats left?

Well, original STALKER was this: A totally freeroam, with intelligent life-simulation-system where every creature exists even when the player does not see it/him. You had to find like a house to sleep in, barricade the doors and windows and make your self at home, set traps or set a friend to guard and change shifts.
NPC´s barter, talk, share equipment, kill, hunt, go out and look for artifact (=special items that radiation have enabled to have various supernatural capabilities), trade with the military, use vehicles and drive around the huge world, fuel the vehicles and maintain them, you have to eat to survive and drink, smoke cigarettes, drink vodka with your friend by the fire and sing songs as the sun sets.
There was fallout-storms that came in different intervals and you either had to have a protective gear such as a mask and a whole-body-suit to survive it or you had to go deep underground or inside closed space until the storm passes, after these storms anomolies(typo?) are frequent and deadly. You could die to radiation over time and have to eat/drink to reduce the effect of it. And much much much more

But What I HAVE HEARD, the STALKER doesnt feature vehicles, and most of the gameplay elements were simplified. The huge world were cut into segments which are separated by fences and gates (rumor) For best info about the current features you should go to the official/fan sites and have a looksie.

chekck out http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/stalker/media.html?mode=trailers

And look the trailer ´ S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl Official Trailer 10´...that is the best imo

Well I got it and its not that great. It looks a lot like Half Life 2 with all settings maxed. No physics in the multiplayer either. From videos and things I've seen I'm still somewhat looking forward to the single player. Not much else to say since judging the entire game based on the multiplayer experience is just silly.

I also doubt you’re a beta tester, seeing as anyone who subimitted their e-mail address at a certain time received a serial number and ability to download the multiplayer version of the game...screen shots are also available all over the web.
