I don't understand how this would work physically. The only thing that I can think of that comes close is a nuclear weapon. Atom smashing/splitting. If you look at "binary explosive" in Wikipedia, it says that the video is believed to be a hoax. A legitimate binary explosive is FIXOR but doesn't have the power that was shown in the video.

I think what you see is plausible but what they tell you you see is not true. I mean why the hell do they say an amount of white solid and red liquid binary. If it would be as dangerous as they say and are intending to believe it is they would give you the real name. Saying we wont tell it because it would get too dangerous is bullshit because these ingredients would be as hard to get as finding a dodo in space.
And then when they let it explode they say it ''vapourizes'' the melon is even more nonsense. It looks more like a little rocket thruster on the melon which launches it to the right, out of sight of the camera.
And when they played the slomotion part there are too many frames cut out. Its like making a movie of a ball than remove the ball and cut the frames out where youre doing that. Put in some smoke effects and omg! its vapourizing!!!
I know Bugga all about Binary but i do know that i play with fire and have played with things that go bang before:p
If you look at the last frame where they show the sparks from the so called "Bomb thing" you will notice most of them are on the oposite side of the water melon to where the actual thing they strapped to it is.
And from my playing with fire days i would say that if something did go bang then most the fire or sparks would be on the same side as the explosive and would have been put out, deflected or blocked by the object before they could reach the other side.

Put it this way ... why worry?
When you had people know allsorts of fireworks at you ... whats a bit of plastic explosive :p
Last bomby night i heard that in Liverpool, kids had being using firework rockets and some disused drainpipe .... and hey they got themselves a bazooka.

And there i was hoping for a video of some of my fellow scousers with a makeshift bazooka!
(although i must stress that, that was only a rumour i heard and it was never on the news or in widespread gossip to present that it had infact happened)

When my dad was young, he put a load of fertiliser and stuff in a long drain pipe tube, in order to make a big firework type thing, and it ended up blowing down a wall. :p

Fertilizer and diesel is combustible. Probably the best propellant easily avaliable would be guncotton, it's rather easy to make, but it's very dangerous if not made properly(which usually involves washing and drying it over the course of a week or so)
