Hey, is Japanophilia confined to America?

We have our fair share of Japanophiles here on the West Coast. Do any other nations have Japanophiles/Otakus, or is it just us Americans?

And for any people in Japan who may be on the board, is there much America-philia going on?

Not politically, but culturally, for all interested.

But infact Japanese people are probably the nicest people that ive met in my life and people should stop giving them soo much **** for WW2.

Lol, I'm part Jap myself. However it's not the WWII thing that makes me not like it, I guess it's more of how they do everything and run themselves. The difference in culture I guess. When I paid a trip to Japan this past summer I couldn't believe how many Catholic school girls I saw (everyone wore the same uniform), plus the people between 17-25 years old was either a punk rocker or a DDR character (they dress like them, seriously!). And they didn't do it for special occasions, it was rather normal in Japan.

After being there for only 3 days I realized how much I missed the west. All the people I hang out with are white (or think white), so everyone considers me to be a white guy stuck in an Asian's body. Not to mention the fact that I don't fit any Asian stereotypes. So crack jokes, try to be racist, etc. I won't be bothered at all, in fact I love it. That's just me though, I don't speak for all Asians.

Your right we should stop giving them shit. After studying history it is difficult to forgive anyone for past events.

Even though the Japanese did that to our Troops and Soldiers a lot of soldiers do forgive them.
You say you cant forgive them because you studied history? Maybe you should look past what they did back then. Especially since the people they torured can.
The past is the opast and nothing can change it. If you have ever met a Japanese person you will see how polite they really are.
