After a few weeks of work I am now able to present www.1944intel.com, if something happens relating to 1944 D-Day then it will be posted on this site. The aim is for it to become one of the Planet ring of sites (e.g. www.planetcallofduty.com). I will be adding content in the next few days, and then forevermore.
If you feel you are highly active and interested in 1944 D-Day (if you are on this board i am assuming you are), and you have basic knowledge of html, then if you want to be a moderator on the site then please email me (as my pm box is too small), my address is lazlazlaz1@hotmail.com. I will only be accepting a small number of people (exact number yet to be decided) so dont delay.
Your job initially will entail uploading news/media, but I have plans to add a forum to the site so you will also be required to moderate the forums once they are completed.
Please also note, the job will not start straight away as there are still things to be done (i.e. admin tools), but it will do shortly.
edit: moderating will also involve checking user comments on articles and files for anything against the rules. there will also be the ability for other people to report a comment to a moderator

Great initiative. Really hope this site is gonna be something :)
I know it's my own fault, but the members list for 1941: Crete should be updated as we have one more member now (The Wookiee who is a modeler) and since I forgot to add Josh_HLB as a mapper.

please be aware that for some unknown reason files are not updating when I change them on the website. So certain links do not work. Working files are also reverting back to old broken files. I have contacted my host, so hopefully this problem should be fixed soon.

Ok, seeing as I am getting a lot of reports of the website messing up and looking odd, could everyone take a print screen of the homepage of the website and post it in here. Thank you a lot.

Only problem I see in design, it the Banner is not centered over the body. (Viewing in Mozilla at 1280x1024)
Love the featured pics ;)

1944Daily is more of a news site, i will store all the files and images etc in gallerys. plus anyway, have you seen how many spore fan sites there are, and its coming out after 1944 (in case you dont know its in the region of 15).
Btw i like the template used

I already made thoughts about the missing pics ....
edit: quick question...is the registerthing working now?
All of the images are .png's. Maybe making them .jpg's will help the site to load quicker?

yeah neo, i think i will do that, i made the banner a jpg before.
the registering sorta works. it just doesnt record your country or dob for some reason. it just needs a bit of editing.
however you cannot login yet, it has trouble finding the username.
Hrmmm i might be able to help with that =/

Very true, good luck man. I won't comment on the pages because you're still working on it, but in the files section you could use the Game box design that won the design competition as a placeholder (except maybe have them take off the RE logo).

Cheers.
Have you got a link to that competition, because I can't see it anywhere, and the logo design comp is still going.

thanks guys :)
chukada, send me an email to support@1944intel.com about any experience you have with websites, html, moderating or similar, it doesnt matter too much I dont know you. I have accepted 3 others I dont really know as its all trial running atm.
btw guys, the UserCP is fully up and you can now send each other private messages, oh the joy ;). Unfortunately I dont know how to do WYSIWYG editors, since they are javascript as far as i know, so you have to use HTML tags to modify the text in pm's and the like.
I am now working on the moderator tools, then the forum.
Aiite sweet like i said msg me if you need some help as im almost always available and feel kinda useless doing nothing ;)

errr...oops. I just emptied the users table...i was trying to empty the private message table and missed to put it simply...so the 4 that had registered will have to re-register :o sorry
Re registering gives me this error
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ECHO, expecting ',' or ';' in /home/intel/public_html/register.php on line 154

Your using Mambo right? There are plenty of bridges out there that allow you to bridge your Forums. Just pick the best supported forums, it usually requires very little change.
Not quite sure what hes using but uh ill see what we can piece together.
Did some userbars (Took my a while to find the 1944 logos and stuff lol) If anyone has a suggestion please feel free to criticize(first time i tried one)

Thank you kindve plain I suppose now that i look at'em

nice one gien
about mambo, I looked at their website and it appears to be an all inclusive package, which does not suit me. Looking at invisionfree they state that one of their features is "forum portal" or something to that effect. I need to look into it more but I will just stick with these as they are.
edit: this doesnt quite appear to be what i thought it was. they have a 'portal' but it is just a bulletin board and usercp thing built into the forums.
edit again: ah, installing a forum on the host allows me to access the databases so it could work that way
