Looking for some information, ive been looking over the wiki and have done several google searches but ive came up trumps so far (maybe i just missed ... wouldnt be the first time)
Anyhoo am looking for the exact strength or a near enough estimate of the Argie land force garrisoning the islands before they where retaken and there air strength.
Also i havnt been able to find so far either, the actual number of British soldiers deployed to retake the island.
any help be great.
Thanks :)

Well, I have a little mate, but it might not be enough:
It began when forces from Argentina landed on the Falklands and on SouthGeorgia (I think that's how to say it, from a swedish site you see).
Great Britain find that quite...ehm.....bad, because the Falklands was an old British colony since 1833 when the Brits kicked the Argentinians off the place (it was an Argentinian colony at first).
I suppose you know that the Englishmen won hte war, mostly because they had modern weapons. But the Argentinans fought hard, and the Royal Fleet lost several ships, among them the H.M.S Sheffield. This was achived with the help of Argentinan Air Force and Exocetmissiles bought by France. 256 brits was K.I.A and 712 argentinians....... Thats all I have. Good luck mate, whatever your doing.

thanks for the info :) already had some of that though, but thanks again.
At any rate it was ours before it was there even way back in the 1800s ;)

Yayaya, don't give me any of that "rule Britannia" chat! I'm not from the Islands, I'm from Scandinavia! (but you are most certanly right mate, and I do have a keen intrest in British history, seen my "reconstruction" of Churchills final words of "we shall fight" speech? It's in one of the war-quote posts, please read it so I didn't do it in vain:D )

I wouldn't look at any period documents that arn't declassified military documents. Thatcher kept the public blind for the duration, most of the press talk is bound to be filled with speculation.
